Bridgeport Schools

About this project

Eclipse Engineering provided expertise for this vital community project to update and expand a K-12 school serving a growing population.

Most of the structural remodel took place at Bridgeport Middle School, updating the 29,000-square-foot single-story building to add several new rooms, a secure entry, reframe the roof, renovate the gym and feature a new mechanical mezzanine over existing corridor walls. This much-needed improvement supported a growing student population, many of whom had been attending school in temporary mobile classrooms due to crowding.

Structural updates for the elementary school building added five classrooms and office space, and the high school expanded its kitchen and added three classrooms, all in light-framed wood construction with CMU walls.

The $12 million project was unveiled in early 2020 to enthusiastic response from press and the community.
